Switching from Wild Apricot to Golbi
A membership migration that stays honest: which contact, membership, and dues records export and import cleanly, what your member-facing site means for the move, and where paid hands-on migration takes over.
One place for the public website, private admin work, and safer member workflows.
Why Wild Apricot customers are asking.
Wild Apricot moved into Momentive Software's portfolio of more than twenty products after its January 2026 acquisition of Personify, and support-quality complaints were visible publicly during the integration. If yours is one of the associations feeling that, it is a reasonable prompt to price the alternatives rather than a reason to panic.
What can come across, and how you get it here.
There is no automatic import from Wild Apricot, and we will not market one. Each record type below names the rung of our migration ladder it is reached from — the self-serve rungs are free to do yourself, and the hands-on rungs are a paid, quoted service.
Contacts and members
Rung 1 — self-serve CSV import. Your contact database with membership levels and status carried through as record labels.
Households and linked members
Rung 1 — self-serve CSV import. Family and bundle relationships rebuilt as households, so member-only and private records stay scoped correctly.
Membership dues balances
Rung 2 — guided migration kit. Paid and unpaid state plus renewal dates, loaded as the starting point of your private dues ledger.
Application and renewal form questions
Rung 2 — guided migration kit. The questions you ask applicants, rebuilt from templates. Past submissions import when the export is clean.
A long contact history with duplicates
Rung 3 — assisted mapping, a paid service. Databases that have accumulated years of duplicates need de-duplication and household reconstruction before a clean load.
What stays behind — and why we say so up front.
How boards usually sequence the move.
Associations usually move at a renewal boundary. Import contacts and households first, reconstruct membership levels and renewal dates next, rebuild the application and renewal forms, then publish public and member-only pages before pointing your domain across. Dues balances come last so the ledger opens on a settled number.
Switching from Wild Apricot: common questions.
Will our membership levels survive the move?
The level each member holds comes across as a record on that member, and renewal dates come with it. What is not exportable is the automatic billing schedule that sat in the old platform's processor — recurring renewals are re-established rather than migrated.
What happens to our member-only pages?
They are rebuilt, not exported. Golbi keeps a strict separation between public pages and member-only pages, so once households and membership records are in, the access rules follow the data rather than being reapplied page by page.
Our contact database has years of duplicates. Is that a problem?
It is the single most common reason a membership migration needs the paid assisted rung. You send the export, we de-duplicate and rebuild households, and you approve a preview before anything is written. Cleaning before the load is far cheaper than cleaning after it.
Can we collect membership dues online after the move?
Online payment collection is gated on your plan and on connecting your organization's own payment account, and it is not switched on by default. Where it is on, your organization is the merchant of record and money settles to your account — Golbi never holds the funds. Online donations are not enabled.
