Careful handling of children's data.
Many groups on Golbi work with children. This notice explains how that data is handled, how consent works, and the rights of parents and guardians.
About this notice
Last updated June 2, 2026. Golbi is a tool that organizations use to run their programs. When a child's data is added to Golbi, it is usually added by an organization (such as a youth-sports team or school program) or by a parent or guardian. This notice explains how we handle data about children under 13 and the responsibilities that organizations and guardians carry.
Data practices for children under 13.
Verifiable parental consent.
Where the law requires verifiable parental consent before a child's data is collected, that consent must be obtained. Guardians and organizations are responsible for obtaining and recording consent where it is required for their programs. Golbi provides forms and records that organizations can use to help manage this, but the obligation to obtain consent rests with the organization or guardian.
School-authorized educational use.
Where a school or school program uses Golbi for an authorized educational purpose, the school may provide consent on behalf of parents for that limited educational use, as permitted by law. This boundary applies only to the educational activity the school has authorized and does not extend to other uses.
Access, review, and deletion.
Parents and guardians may ask to review the personal data held about their child, ask for corrections, or ask that it be deleted. Because organizations control their own records, these requests are often best directed to the organization that collected the data. You can also contact us at privacy@golbi.app and we will help route the request and assist the organization.
Retention limits.
Children's data is kept only as long as needed for the program it was collected for, or as required by law. Organizations decide their own retention periods within these limits, and data is deleted after a reasonable period when it is no longer needed.
No behavioral advertising.
Golbi does not use children's data, or any member data, for behavioral or targeted advertising. We do not sell personal data. Children's records exist to help an organization run its program and for nothing else.
