Switching from Get Connected (Galaxy Digital) to Golbi
An honest read on moving off Get Connected: what volunteer contact and household data can import today, what Golbi's Restricted volunteer program tools mean for the timing, and which records never transfer between platforms.
One place for the public website, private admin work, and safer member workflows.
Why Get Connected customers are asking.
Get Connected was acquired by Better Impact in March 2026, leaving one owner running two overlapping volunteer platforms. Public messaging at the time said there was no forced migration yet — which is a fair reason to ask where your platform sits in the combined roadmap before your next renewal, rather than a reason to move in a hurry.
What can come across, and how you get it here.
There is no automatic import from Get Connected, and we will not market one. Each record type below names the rung of our migration ladder it is reached from — the self-serve rungs are free to do yourself, and the hands-on rungs are a paid, quoted service.
Volunteer contacts and households
Rung 1 — self-serve CSV import. Names, contact details, and household links, imported as ordinary people records with family privacy rules applied.
Groups and teams
Rung 1 — self-serve CSV import. Your standing groups and who belongs to them, with simple role labels.
Event and shift sign-up structure
Rung 2 — guided migration kit. The shape of your recurring sign-ups — slots, roles, and dates — rebuilt from templates and re-opened for the coming period.
Recorded hours as reference figures
Rung 3 — assisted mapping, a paid service. Totals can be brought in as reference records for reporting continuity. This is a mapped, reviewed load, not an automatic transfer.
What stays behind — and why we say so up front.
How boards usually sequence the move.
Because Golbi's volunteer program management is Restricted, this is the one migration to scope in conversation before you export anything. Start with a fit check on what is actually available to your organization, import people and households only once that is settled, then rebuild sign-up structure. Hours history, where it is needed at all, comes last as a reviewed load.
Switching from Get Connected: common questions.
Can Golbi run our volunteer program today?
Not for every organization. Volunteer program management — credential tracking, clearance workflows, check-in, and hours reporting — is Restricted and granted case by case, not switched on with a plan. Event and shift sign-ups are a separate, live capability. Talk to us about fit before you plan an export.
Do our volunteers' background checks transfer?
No. Screening results belong to the screener that produced them and to the person they describe, so they are never bulk-imported. Your organization re-runs checks with whichever provider it uses, on the schedule its policy requires.
What about recorded volunteer hours?
Totals can be brought across as reference figures for reporting continuity, through the paid assisted rung with a preview you approve. Detailed hour-by-hour history is a high-touch import rather than a self-serve one, and it is worth asking whether you need it before paying to move it.
Should we wait for the two platforms to be merged?
That is your call, and it is a fair question to put to your account team in writing. Ask which platform is the long-term one, what the migration path between them looks like, and what it costs. Whatever the answer, it is the same information you need to evaluate any alternative.
